Little Stranger, the in-your-face indie hip-hop duo based out of Charleston, SC, has released “Red Rover”, a frenzied new track featuring appearances by Brooklyn rapper Jarv and Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Jake Cinninger.

Born and raised in Philly, crash-landed in Charleston, Kevin and John Shields are breaking into previously uncharted waters with their quirky indie hip-hop group, Little Stranger. Between John’s melodic singer-songwriter magnetism, Kevin’s in-your-face delivery, and an overall energizing aesthetic, Little Stranger will leave you craving to get familiar.

With its quick-cut, montage-ready pacing, rapid-fire lyricism, and high-register chorus, “Red Rover” will get your adrenaline pumping from its opening notes. By the time Cinninger’s blast of heavy-distortion guitar wizardry pierces through the track’s closing refrain, you’ll be on your feet and ready to rumble.

“We wanted to make a song that could be heard in a Guy Ritchie film…some sh*t you’d hear during a marijuana heist sequence. And we wanted it to escalate to like a Green Street Hooligans rowdy soccer stadium anthem. Full on mosh pit after a home field victory kind of thing,” the band attests. “We always wanted mosh pits at our shows, and sweet Jesus it worked.”

“Red Rover” marks the second single to be released from Little Stranger’s forthcoming album, Trip Around Saturn, due for a November 2021 release. The new track follows the album’s lead single, “Sunburn”, which arrived last month along with a music video featuring Tropidelic.
