Lollapalooza is set to celebrate this year’s forfeited festival with Lolla2020, a virtual festival weekend including music and appearances by Paul McCartney, Chance The Rapper, OutKast, Arcade Fire, Michelle ObamaLL COOL J, and many more.

The four-night webcast event will be streamed for free on the Lollapalooza YouTube channel from Thursday, July 30th through Sunday, August 2nd, the originally-scheduled dates for the 2020 edition of the long-running music festival at Chicago, IL’s Grant Park.

Lolla2020 will include more than 150 performances and appearances including fan-favorite sets from previous editions of the festival and its various international iterations, original performances from artists all over the world, classic archival sets from some of the festival’s most popular headliners, and a series of special late-night performances. In between the music, Lolla2020 will highlight causes important to the festival’s history, community and home of Chicago.

Past Lollapalooza performances set to be featured as part of the Lolla2020 webcast event include Paul McCartney, Chance The Rapper, OutKast, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Metallica, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ellie Goulding, Run The Jewels, Lorde, Alabama Shakes, Tove Lo, and much more.

Lolla2020 will also feature brand new original live performances from artists including Alison Wonderland (Live Set), Carnage, H.E.R., Kali Uchis, Kaskade, Louis the Child, NGHTMRE, Pink Sweat$, SAYMYNAME, Tank and the Bangas, The Neighbourhood, Vic Mensa, Yungblud, ZHU, and many more.

Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot will appear throughout the weekend’s festivities, including hosting engaging conversations with the likes of Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell and hip-hop legend LL COOL J.

Lollapalooza founder and Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell will host candid conversations with famous friends and tastemakers including Lars Ulrich and Chuck D. Farrell will also lead a special Kind Heaven Orchestra performance featuring Taylor Hawkins, a David Bowie tribute with pianist Mike Garson, the first Porno for Pyros reunion in 24 years, and a few other special surprises.

Lolla2020 will also bring awareness to and partner with When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization launched by Co-Chair and former First Lady Michelle Obama in 2018 to increase participation in every election, with a mission to change the culture around voting and close the race and age voting gap to ensure every eligible voter is registered and ready to vote; the Equal Justice Initiative, which is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the U.S., challenging racial and economic injustice, and protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable; and the Arts for Illinois Relief Fund, which provides financial relief to venues, organizations and workers in the creative industries, including artists, artisans, and stage and production members who have been impacted by COVID-19. The Lolla2020 lineup will include four performances by local artists presented in collaboration with the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE). These four sets feature many of Chicago’s incredible emerging and established artists including Jamila Woods, KAINA, Heavy Steppers with Jamal Smallz, Peter CottonTale, Rebirth Poetry Ensemble, Emon Fowler, Linda Sol, and The Era Footwork Crew, all programmed by DCASE and recorded at neighborhood music venues to showcase Chicago’s diverse and legendary music scene during the Year of Chicago Music, now extended into 2021.

In partnership with co-sponsor Salesforce and their Make Change initiative, Lolla2020 will feature four sessions hosted by hip-hop icon and Rock The Bells founder LL COOL J, including “The Art of Breaking,” “The Art of MCing,” “The Art of Graffiti & Photography,” and “The Art of DJing.” Make Change highlights leaders who use their talent as a platform for change. This series inspires others to take part in the conversation, shift their perspective and understand how their approach can make change in the world.

Toyota will sponsor a virtual version of its long-running Toyota Music Den showcase as part of Lolla2020. Performances will feature artists DaniLeigh, mxmtoon, Masego, and Princess Nokia. Toyota is also taking part in the first-ever “Mayor of Lolla” sweepstakes. Fans will have the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, including the grand prize package – two, 4-day Platinum Tickets to Lollapalooza 2021, flights, hotel suite and a new 2021 Corolla Apex.
