While many of us won’t be together with those we love this holiday season, that didn’t stop Lyle Divinsky from digitally collaborating with some of his musical compatriots. On Tuesday, the former Motet singer shared the fifth installment of Together Wherever with a fitting take on William Bell‘s “Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday” with Ryan Zoidis (Lettuce) and Akie Bermiss (Lake Street Dive).

This latest episode of Divinksy’s virtual collaboration series follows “I Can’t Win” with Cris Jacobs, “How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore?” with Jennifer Hartswick and Nick Cassarino, “Risk It All” with The Ghost Of Paul Revere, and “Weak” with Sammi Garett, Shira Elias, and Kim Dawson.

The lively take on the song Bell wrote with Booker T. Jones and released in 1967 achieves a rich, full sound with Bermiss on keys and Zoidis on sax. Though Divinsky is certainly up to the task himself, Bermiss also provides backup vocals and even takes on the second verse. While impending holiday gatherings may look a bit different this year, the refrain of “Everyday will be like a holiday when my baby comes home,” reminds us all that—whenever we can all get together safely again—it’ll be the greatest holiday celebration, regardless of the date.
