Marco Benevento has shared the surprise-release of recordings from his performance at Levon Helm Studios a year ago on March 9th, 2019.
Simply titled, Levon’s 3/9/19, the new collection of live recordings from last year’s performance are now available to stream for free or purchase via Bandcamp, and have arrived at a time fans are in search for any kind of live performance or fresh music content as the entire concert industry remains on indefinite hiatus.

The 16-song performance with his backing band of Karina Rykman and Dave “DB” Butler treated fans in attendance at Helm’s former studio in Woodstock, NY to live renditions of “Solid Gold”, “Fireworks”, “Greenpoint”, “Stay In Line”, “Send It On A Rocket“, “Let It Slide”, and more. The album’s multi-track recordings were mixed and mastered by Benevento himself. Fans have the option of streaming or purchasing the show via digital download, in addition to purchasing a limited edition “homemade” cassette format with each copy to feature a one-of-a-kind, hand-designed insert by the pianist.
Benevento also announced he will take part in Bandcamp’s artist-friendly initiative today by waiving all of his revenue shares for the next 24 hours to support his fellow musicians being impacted by lost work during the current stoppage of all live entertainment around the country.

“Honestly while I was mixing this show I was seriously missing the energy of the people,” Benevento shared in a statement to his Facebook with the album announcement on Friday morning. “The energy I am so used to feeling and hearing …every weekend…at every show … I truly am missing our gatherings to celebrate music and just being happy all together in one room sharing a similar experience … you guys really make my world.”
Benevento and company were scheduled to perform two sold-out shows at Levon Helm Studios later this month on March 27th-28th, but those shows have since been postponed as the country hopes to wait out the ongoing pandemic.
