Matthew McConaughey is down to party. Anyone who’s ever watched the 1995 cult classic, Dazed and Confused—or heard that infamous story about him getting arrested for weed after being reported for playing the bongos naked—can attest to that. While he’s spent the last few years solving heinous crimes on True Detective and acting as Lincoln Motor Company’s completely zoned-out spokesperson, McConaughey is now back to his hippie ways in the new trailer for a forthcoming film titled, The Beach Bum.

The film is scheduled to premiere at SXSW Film Festival in early March and will arrive in theatres a week later on March 22nd. The film features an impressive roster of actors like Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, and comedian Martin Lawrence, in addition to notable musicians including Snoop Dogg, real-life beach bum Jimmy Buffett, and Parliament-Funkadelic bandleader George Clinton (uncredited). McConaughey plays a writer-turned-burnout by the name of Moondog, a rebellious stoner who lives life by his own rules, according to the film’s IMDB page. Remind you of anyone you’ve met out on The Lot?

The film’s first trailer was shared on Wednesday, and showcases McConaughey doing his best zonked-out-hippy portrayal while Snoop, Jonah Hill, and George Clinton all make hilarious cameos throughout. Bong masks, party boats, and cannabis-fueled adventures all ensue throughout the 2.5-minute promo clip. Fans can check out the clip below to see it all go down in the fictional world, but we recommend taking a shower immediately after watching.

Back in the fall, Snoop Dogg released a Thanksgiving-themed original track titled, “Grateful”, which featured a few other West Coast rappers E-40 and Tyrese. Unlike Snoop, George Clinton is finally starting to wind down his career as one of funk’s most admired performers and producers. Clinton announced last fall that he’ll be embarking on his final tour alongside Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, Fishbone throughout 2019. Fans can head over to Clinton’s website for ticket information to his upcoming shows.
