Rising jamgrass quartet Mountain Grass Unit will capitalize on its snowballing popularity with the extensive Runnin’ From Trouble Tour. The 50-date cross-country summer trek will keep the Birmingham-bred group on the road from May to September, playing headlining shows and iconic festivals.

The tour will kick off on May 30th at Atlanta’s Terminal West and run all the way through September 6th when it wraps at the Portland House of Music in Maine. Along the way, Mountain Grass Unit will headline Charleston Pour House in South Carolina (6/6–6/7), Martyrs’ in Chicago (6/27), Tipitina’s in New Orleans (7/10), The Mint in Los Angeles (7/26), Mishawaka Amphitheatre (8/1–8/2) and Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom (8/15) in Colorado, the Georgia Theatre in Athens (8/23), The Atlantis in Washington, D.C. (8/29), Hill Country Live in New York City (9/4), and many more. Between headlining shows, the band will take prominent billing at DelFest, Northlands Music & Arts Festival, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, FairWell, and plenty of others.

Over the past several years, Mountain Grass Unit has built a word-of-mouth reputation thanks to a prodigious output of memorable performances. Following the thread from progressive bluegrass pioneers John Hartford and New Grass Revival through modern-day it-kid Billy Strings, Mountain Grass Unit has captured the attention of recent bluegrass converts and longtime fans alike. This summer tour comes on the heels of Mountain Grass Unit’s 2024 EP, Runnin’ From Trouble, produced and mixed by members of Old Crow Medicine Show.

“Runnin’ From Trouble is a nod to the track ‘Smugglin’,” bassist/vocalist Sam Wilson said.  “Although it sounds cool to be cowboy smuggling across the desert, the title more so reflects our vibe as a group… our rigorous tour schedule keeps us on our toes and runnin’ from trouble!”

A Seated pre-sale for tickets to the Mountain Grass Unit Runnin’ From Trouble summer 2025 tour will begin Tuesday, February 18th at 10 a.m. local venue time. Venue pre-sales will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, February 19th before tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 21st at 10 a.m. local venue time.
