Official Grateful Dead Cupcakes Are Now Being Sold

Well this really puts the baked in Baked by Melissa.

The bakery famous for their miniature cupcakes now has a new, Grateful Dead-themed line of cupcakes for sale. Pictured above, the tie-dyed treats are on sale for only one dollar at all Baked by Melissa locations, and they’re available online.

Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time that Melissa Ben-Ishay, the bakery’s owner, has made Dead-themed cupcakes. Speaking to SF Weekly, she says “The very first batch of tie-dye cupcakes I ever made were Grateful Dead themed. Having an opportunity to work with the band is a dream come true!”

The Grateful Dead reunion shows kick off this weekend, June 27-28, in Santa Clara, CA. While there is only one major pre-party surrounding those shows, the three-night run in Chicago (July 3-5) has dozens of surrounding concerts.
