One of the world’s largest soft drink corporations is now responsible for debuting a previously-unreleased freestyle rap recording from the late Notorious B.I.G.

In a new animated Pepsi ad inspired by the late rap star’s hometown of Brooklyn, NY, fans are treated to impressively clear audio of a catchy beat while Biggie raps away with no real script or lyrical plan other than his natural abilities. The animated video ad showcases the recognizable hustle and bustle of New York City, along with familiar neighborhood locales like the corner bogeda, kids jumping rope in the street, Biggie’s Barbershop, and Brooklyn brownstones.

The original studio recording reportedly took place at D&D Studios sometime in early 1997 before his murder in March of that year, and was recently remastered by Biggie’s former collaborators DJ Enuff and Cey Adam. The video hears Biggie improvisationally rapping out, “Nothing can beat the P-E-P-S-I drink it constantly/Something ’bout the taste feels great, less filling/Tell ’em Biggie said drink it all, don’t test me/Nothing else beats a Pepsi.
