Tennessee guitarist Daniel Donato leads Phil Lesh & Friends through the Grateful Dead classic “Tennessee Jed” in the latest Terrapin Clubhouse session.
Donato and Lesh are joined by John Molo on drums, Holly Bowling on keys, Grahame Lesh on guitar, and Nicki Bluhm on vocals for the live in-studio session. The video marks the first single-song release from Terrapin Clubhouse, unless you count the Darkstarathon, which includes other tunes within a never-ending “Dark Star” jam.
Other than that, the channel has released four Terrapin Clubhouse sessions and a Fourth of July Special, all featuring varying lineups of former Terrapin Crossroads regulars and members of the extended Grateful Dead family, including Dead & Company bassist Oteil Burbridge, who played drums for the Darkstarathon, bluegrass legend Peter Rowan, and more.
Phil Lesh is gearing up to headline Terrapin Crossroads‘ Sunday Daydream festivals in July and August, where he will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Grateful Dead’s legendary 1974 performance at the Hollywood Bowl with a Phil & Friends lineup featuring Stanley Jordan, Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Grahame Lesh, Mikaela Davis, John Molo, and Jason Crosby.
