In a recent interview with Drowned In Sound to discuss his latest solo effort, Weatherhouse, Radiohead drummer and genial bloke Philip Selway was asked the obvious question about how the band’s latest efforts in the studio were coming along. “It’s all coming along nicely, thank you! We worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas, and now we’re just taking some time away for other projects. We’ll get back to it in March and we’ll make an assessment of where we are then, but we’ve been excited about what we’ve been doing so far. It’s by no means finished yet, so we’ve got a way to go. It’s been a productive time though.”
With absolutely no word on when the album will come out, nor any plans on taking any guesses, we’ll just have to wait patiently (or not) for when the forthcoming album will drop. In the meantime, check out Weatherhouse from Selway; it is the follow-up from 2010’s Familial and will see the drummer make his way around Europe before appearances at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC on April 10th, followed by a performance at Coachella.
