Just as Phish delivered its postponed concerts at Madison Square Garden last week, so too did Neighbor deliver its own long-awaited late-night show at The Cutting Room. The after-party from the rocketing Boston quartet took place on April 21st following the second of four Phish shows.

The band—comprised of childhood neighbors Richard James (vocals, keys) and Lyle Brewer (guitar) alongside Dan Kelly (bass) and Dean Johnston (drums)—took the single set opportunity to showcase its catalog of originals, including the opening “Move Along Little Jimmy”. The evening also saw tellings of “Steel” and “The Weeds”, the latter of which was sandwiched in between “Trippin’ in a Van”.

Later on, the show took on a meta component as Neighbor brought everything full circle, embedding teases of “The Woods” and “Steel” in performances of “Mary and Martha” and “Cucamonga Carl”, respectively. The show then closed out with “Thunder Island”, which included a nod to Jimi Hendrix‘s “3rd Stone From The Sun”.

Next up, the band travels to the Exit/In in Nashville, TN tonight, April 28th, ahead of a weekend run including a Goose after-party at Asheville, NC’s Salvage Station (4/29) and a set at SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta, GA (4/30).
