Pigeons Playing Ping Pong has shared the pro-shot video for their entire performance at Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse back on November 3rd, where they added a new twist to their 2018 Halloween theme, creating “Dead Hot Sergeant Peppers” to close out their two-night run at the venue as part of their ongoing fall tour. Today, the band has premiered a full pro-shot video of their “Dead Hot Sgt. Peppers” Halloween run finale for everyone to enjoy.

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong initially impressed fans with their “Red Hot Sergeant Peppers” concept performances on Halloween and the following two nights, when they cleverly mixed material from both The Beatles and Red Hot Chili Peppers into their setlists. Dressed in red Sgt. Peppers jackets with custom patches on the back reminiscent of the classic RHCP symbol and white pants that featured black tribal designs from the RHCP album Blood Sugar Sex Magik, the band delivered on their Halloween tradition of combining the music bands they admire in new and exciting ways over the run’s first three nights. On the final night of the stretch in Atlanta, much to the delight of fans in attendance, the band expanded their theme to mix in covers from the catalog of yet another beloved band: The Grateful Dead. They even amusingly unzipped their Sgt. Pepper jackets to reveal skeleton shirts underneath as a nod to the altered theme.

The fun-loving jam band from Baltimore had initially shared a portion of pro-shot from their mashup performance from last Saturday, which opened up with their own “Funk E Zekiel” before going right into covers of The Beatles’ “Drive My Car” > “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road” > “Drive My Car”. They then transitioned back to “Funk E Zekiel” and grooved their way right into RHCP’s “By The Way” and, in turn, the Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street”, before returning to their own “Somethin’ For Ya” to close out the lengthy mashup. You can watch the previously shared 24-minute video below.
