Pigeons Playing Ping Pong Close Winter Run With A Sold-Out Throwdown In Atlanta [Photos/Videos]

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong capped off a southern-fried winter run on Saturday with a sold-out show at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, GA.

After kicking off two nights in Atlanta on Friday with support from Tand, Pigeons returned to Variety Playhouse on Saturday with Georgia-bred jammers Underground Springhouse.

Pigeons then threw down two sets of mostly original jams with a few good-time covers including Elton John‘s “Rocket Man”, which was sandwiched in the middle of “Distant Times” at the start of set two, and the Allman Brothers Band‘s “Jessica”, played for the first time in five years, plus “Mission KillPossiBill”, a mashup of the themes from the films Mission Impossible and Kill Bill. The band closed with its latest single, “Day In Time”, the title track to Pigeons’ upcoming album due out April 26th, and returned for a rejuvenating “Dawn a New Day” encore.
