Los Angeles’ own Red Hot Chili Peppers will help christen the stage at the new Amoeba Music in Hollywood with an in-store performance. Announced on Wednesday, RHCP will perform at Amoeba on Thursday, April 7th at 12 p.m.

In order to secure a ticket, fans must purchase an L.A. Edition vinyl copy of the band’s new LP, Unlimited Love, on Friday. The limited-edition copy of the band’s 12th album is available only at Amoeba Music and comes with a commemorative poster and features an alternate cover. Fans will pre-purchase the album in-store on April 1st and receive the vinyl at Amoeba on April 7th before the show. For more information head here.

Next Thursday’s performance will mark the first in-store concert at the new Amoeba Music location at 6200 Hollywood Blvd. The expanded site of the original Amoeba Hollywood—formerly situated at 6400 Sunset Blvd—opened on April 1st, 2021, following nearly seven months of COVID-induced delays. After California lifted its mask requirement for vaccinated individuals last month, Amoeba Music Hollywood will once again resume hosting intimate in-store concerts from music’s biggest names. Past in-store performances have included Paul McCartney, Bob Weir, Anderson .Paak, Elliot Smith, and more over the past 20 years.

Out on Friday, Unlimited Love marks Red Hot Chili Peppers’ reunion with guitarist John Frusciante. The band’s first album since 2016’s The Getaway will also be its first with Frusciante since 2006’s Stadium Arcadium. The new 17-track offering also hears RHCP work beside longtime producer Rick Rubin, who produced all of the band’s albums from 1991’s Blood Sugar Sex Magik through 2011’s I’m with You, but was replaced by Danger Mouse on The Getaway.
