Robert Glasper has released Black Radio III, his much-anticipated new studio album which arrived on February 25th via Loma VistaBlack Radio III marks the tenth anniversary of Black Radio, which Glasper initially released back in 2012 and followed up with Black Radio II in 2013.

Much like the original, this new offering from Glasper hears the multi-hyphenate, genre-fluid musician work across a variety of sounds and stylings with a plethora of special guests. He previewed the album on January 13th with the release of “Black Superhero“, which features rappers Killer Mike and Big K.R.I.T., as well as singer BJ the Chicago Kid. The album also plays host to “Better Than I Imagined“—the Grammy Award-winning single with H.E.R. and Meshell Ndegeocello—and “Shine”, featuring D Smoke and Tiffany Gouché.

As far as the unheard tracks are concerned, Friday’s release allows fans to hear for the first time the piano and production virtuoso collaborate with the likes of Amir Sulaiman on “In Tune”, Q-Tip and Esperanza Spalding on “Why We Speak”, Jennifer Hudson on “Out of My Hands”, PJ Morton and India.Arie on “Forever”, Ty Dolla $ign on “Bright Lights”, and much more. Elements of jazz, hip-hop, soul, gospel, and more take center stage across the 13 tracks and take the listener on an invigorating excursion through the brilliant musical mind of Robert Glasper.

Glasper is currently amid a lengthy coast-to-coast tour. He will host a performance tonight, February 26th, in Portland, OR before heading out to Seattle, WA on the 27th. He will then stage concerts in San Francisco (3/1) and Los Angeles, CA (3/4) before heading back to the East Coast for a couple of shows at Boston, MA’s City Winery (3/12, 3/13) and New York, NY’s Blue Note Jazz Club (3/15–3/20).
