Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival has revealed the third wave of artists for their 2019 lineup. Going down in Martinsville, VA from May 23rd through 26th, 2019, the festival’s newly added performers include Sam Bush, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sierra Hull, Ghost Light, The Steel Wheels, The Black Lillies, ‘Yarn Morrison’, Runaway Gin, and more.
These acts join a lineup that already included Galactic, Shovels & Rope, Marcus King Band, Billy Strings, Turkuaz, King & Strings (Marcus King and Billy Strings), BIG Something, The Lil Smokies, Roosevelt Collier Band, Mountain Heart, The Jammy Jam (hosted by the Lil Smokies), Kendall Street Co., The Vegabonds, and more.
King & Strings is a collaboration between southern rocker Marcus King and progressive bluegrass ace Billy Strings that has only happened once before, at last year’s Rooster Walk 10. The original lineup featured Billy Strings and his band, consisting of bassist Royal Masat, banjo player Billy Failing, and mandolinist Jarrod Walker, along with Marcus King and legendary drummer Jeff Sipe (Aquarium Rescue Unit). The exact lineup for the 2019 iteration of King & Strings has yet to be announced, but with both Billy Strings’ and Marcus King’s bands in the house, it’s sure to be one hell of a good time.
