[UPDATE 12/18/24]: Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival has bolstered the lineup for its 2025 event by adding 16 new artists, including headliners Trampled By Turtles. The 15th annual festival will return to its longtime home at Pop’s Farm in Martinsville, VA May 22nd–25th, 2025.

Set to join headliners Trampled By Turtles at Rooster Walk 15 are other newly announced artists Town Mountain, Kendall Street Company, Sneezy, Caitlin Krisko & The Broadcast, Caleb Caudle, The Wilson Springs Hotel, Isaac Hadden, Sol Driven Train, Florencia & The Feeling, Ramona & The Holy Smokes, Big Fat Gap, Mountain Walrus, The Shoaldiggers, Griffin, and DJ What?!. These artists add to the previously announced lineup featuring Daniel Donato’s Cosmic CountryAndy Frasco & The U.N.Little Stranger, Yarn, Cool Cool Cool, Hogslop String Band, ShawdowGrass, and The Rooster Walk House Band.

[11/17/24]: Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival has revealed the initial artist lineup for its 15th annual event, set to return to Pop’s Farm in Martinsville, VA from May 22nd–25th, 2025.

The festival will take place Thursday–Sunday of Memorial Day weekend in the rolling foothills surrounding Martinsville, VA with roughly 50 bands performing on 6 different stages. The “early bird” band lineup for Rooster Walk 2025 includes Daniel Donato’s Cosmic CountryAndy Frasco & The U.N.Little Stranger, Yarn, Cool Cool Cool, Hogslop String Band, ShawdowGrass, and The Rooster Walk House Band.

Making their fourth consecutive appearance at Rooster Walk, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country is led by electric guitar standout Daniel Donato. Cosmic Country’s combination of mind-altering musicianship, celestial jam voyages, and outlaw country influences has put the outfit on a trajectory toward international stardom. Also featured on the initial band lineup are is agent of rock and roll chaos Andy Frasco and his swashbuckling band, The U.N. Frasco and company previously performed a late-night set at Rooster Walk 2022.

Other bands announced as part of the initial Rooster Walk 15 lineup include the Charleston, SC indie hip-hop duo Little Stranger; roots-rockers Yarn, who will once again perform an original set and a festival-closing tribute set; Hogslop String Band, the old-time influenced, high-octane Nashville string band; ShadowGrass, the rapidly rising progressive bluegrass band; the Rooster Walk House Band, which comes together at RW every year for three sets of contrasting genres; and Cool Cool Cool, the funk/house/R&B outfit that continues to make a name for itself at festivals around the country.

Per the initial artist announcement, more than 35 additional bands will be added to the lineup—including the event’s two top-billed headliners—as the festival approaches.

“This is just the start of the full band lineup, and it’s been directly shaped by the wishes and wants of our fanbase,” said Johnny Buck, executive director or Rooster Walk Inc. “We wouldn’t be here without our supporters, so it seems only logical to give them as much of what they ask for as humanly possible. Luckily for us, our fans have excellent taste.”

Tickets and camping passes for Rooster Walk 15 are now on sale at Early Bird prices via the festival website, which also features all the information needed to plan for your Rooster Walk experience.

In addition to approximately 80 sets of live music, the family-friendly Rooster Walk will offer a wide variety of craft beer, great food, kids’ programming, family fun, arts, and numerous opportunities to enjoy Virginia’s great outdoors including guided fly fishing trips, pedal boats, bike rides, yoga, a disc golf course, and on-site camping.

A portion of proceeds from the festival will be donated to local and regional charities, including Rooster Walk’s own Penn-Shank Memorial Endowment Scholarship Fund for students at Martinsville High School and the Rooster Walk Music Instrument Program for public band programs in the local city and county school systems. In addition, a portion of every admission ticket sold before January 1, 2025 will be donated to United Way’s efforts to support Hurricane Helene victims in the mid-Atlantic region.

The festival is produced by Rooster Walk Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to promoting music, arts and education in its home of Martinsville-Henry County. Since 2009, Rooster Walk Inc. has donated more than $330,000 to local and regional charities.
