Royal Blood has announced the forthcoming release of their next studio album, TYPHOONS, due out April 30th via Imperial Galactic Limited/Warner Records UK.

Announced on Thursday, the third full-length studio effort from the British hard-rock duo comprised of bassist/singer Mike Kerr and drummer Ben Thatcher follows 2017’s How Did We Get So Dark? and their acclaimed 2014 self-titled debut.

The band previously shared the lead single to appear on TYPHOONS back in October with “Trouble’s Coming”, and premiered the second single to go with Thursday’s announcement. Also titled “Typhoons”, the dance-friendly song delivers a tight, catchy rhythm and confident swagger that shies away from their harder, darker composition style in exchange for a radio-friendly sound.

“‘Typhoons’ is what it sounds like to be truly lost in your own thoughts to a hellish extent but also about how dark spells, much like storms are not permanent,” the band said of their latest release in a statement shared to their Facebook. “This song was one of those special moments where the process didn’t resemble writing whatsoever. More like being tethered to the earth, receiving holy lightning. Look after each other and crank this until you see smoke.”

Mike Thatcher gave fans a subtle preview of the songs that will appear on the album during an August 2019 interview, where he told NME, “A similar thing happened on the last record where we got to a point where we had some real breakthrough moments. The standard has raised and we hit upon a couple of tunes that were better than anything we’d ever done before.”
