In 1976, progressive rock titans Rush released one of the best albums of their career: 2112. The futuristic rock concept album not only included some of their most well-known singles, like “A Passage To Bangkok” and “Twilight Zone,” but also the seven-part suite “2112.” It’s truly a testament to the musicianship of Rush, so having them honor the album is a real treat for the fans.

Due out on December 19th, the deluxe 2112 will feature a Q&A with Alex Lifeson, rare tracks, live footage, a full DVD of a 1976 concert at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ, and covers of the tracks from the album by modern artists like Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins, Alice In Chains and more. The full listing for the modern covers includes Grohl, Hawkins and Nick Raskulinecz (“Overture”), Alice in Chains (“Tears”), Billy Talent (“A Passage to Bangkok”), Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson (“The Twilight Zone”), and Jacob Moon (“Something for Nothing”).

There’s also a Super Deluxe option that includes a 3-LP version of the re-release, packaged in a box with velvet flocking and stuffed with goodies like band member buttons and a reprint of a handbill from 1976. You can find out more info here, and see the full tracklisting below.
