Ryan Stasik‘s left pinky finger has seen better days. The Umphrey’s McGee bassist took to his Instagram on Thursday to share an image of his fractured pinky, although he made a note to sound optimistic in how it (likely) won’t affect his playing for the band’s upcoming performances.

“Good news and bad news. Bad is it’s a fractured pinky knuckle. Small chunk of bone was chipped off side and is floating near knuckle,” the bassist revealed to go with a slightly painful-looking image shared to his social media account. “Good news is all tendons and ligaments are fine so ill just deal with 4-6 weeks of pain and adjusting to pinkyless play. No biggie. No pain, no gain. Here we go Florida.”

The “Florida” reference which Stasik mentions would be the three shows in the Sunshine State which Umphrey’s has scheduled to play over the next three nights beginning with a performance at Jannus Live in Saint Petersburg, FL on Thursday. The band’s Florida run continues at The Fillmore Miami Beach at the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach (Friday) and The Amp St. Augustine in Saint Augustine (Saturday).

Stasik will have to take extra special care of the pinky on his fret hand if he hopes to make it through the band’s upcoming fall run of shows set to keep the band rocking into September and beyond. Umphrey’s was recently in Chicago this past weekend where they delivered a pair of shows at Lakefront Green, a new venue located along the Lake Michigan waterfront.

Feel better Ryan!
