Brendan Bayliss, Jake Cinninger Play Kenny's Westside Pub As Shitty Limo [Full Video]

Umphrey’s McGee guitarists/vocalists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger dusted off their acoustic duo Shitty Limo on Friday for an intimate show at Kenny’s Westside Pub. The show in Peoria, IL saw a bevy of covers and stripped-down renderings of Umphrey’s classics.

The Friday show came just over a week after UM was tapped to fill in for Joe Russo’s Almost Dead at Suwannee Hulaween. Following the last-second cancellation by JRAD, Umphrey’s stepped to the plate to close down the Amphitheater Stage on Thursday night. The performance even saw a fitting debut cover of the Grateful Dead‘s “Althea”.

That spirit of covers was in the air at Kenny’s Westside on Friday as well, as that very same Go To Heaven cut appeared in the set. Cinninger also got his chance on the mic, taking vocals on Dire Straits‘ “So Far Away”. The show took on a loose, party-style atmosphere as Shitty Limo continued with covers of beloved classic rock staples from Pink Floyd‘s “Comfortably Numb” to Def Leppard‘s “Hysteria”, the latter of which saw Jake flex his beatboxing muscles.

Things got a bit more obscure with the duo’s second-ever performance of “Pork Chop Pie” by Ali Baba’s Tahini, last played by Brendan and Jake on 5/9/13 per All Things Umphrey’s. The duo also managed to fit in some UM originals, including “Partyin’ Peeps” which segued into Jake’s instrumental opus “Glory”.
