Silk Sonic Announces Debut Album, ‘An Evening With Silk Sonic’

Silk Sonic took to Instagram on Friday to detail the supergroup’s debut album, An Evening With Silk Sonic.

Dropping via Aftermath Entertainment/Atlantic Records, An Evening With Silk Sonic will arrive on November 12th. In addition to Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, the album will feature “special guest host” Bootsy Collins, much to the much to the satisfaction of funk fans across the globe.

“Happy Funked Up Saturday,” said Collins in an Instagram post of his own. “I bring you good news! @silksonic Album will be released on Nov. 12th.”

The music world has anxiously awaited an album from the Mars/.Paak supergroup ever since their debut performance of “Leave the Door Open” at the 2021 Grammys back on March 14th. Silk Sonic further teased fans with a follow-up performance at the IHeartRadio Music Awards in May. July saw the release of their second single, “Skate”, highlighting a silky smooth 70s funk/soul vibe.

An Evening With Silk Sonic is available now to pre-order and pre-save. The group will offer the album on all digital platforms, as well as on CD and cassette— a deliberate attempt at reincarnating the music listening experience of yesteryear.
