Sting brought his lauded Sting 3.0 power trio tour to The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on Saturday for the first of two shows at the historic venue. Performing to a sold-out crowd, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer played a blend of Police classics and solo tunes in a career-spanning set.
Following an opening set by pianist ELEW, Sting took the stage joined by guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas and dove right into his iconic songbook with “Message in a Bottle”. The stripped-down trio format brought an old-school energy that evoked the raw spirit of The Police’s early days.
At 73, Sting’s youthful exuberance belied his age as he dug into a mix of solo hits, deeper cuts, and fan favorites, sprinkled with personal anecdotes that gave fans insight into his creative journey.
The high point of the night came with a continuous string of hits—”Walking on the Moon”, “So Lonely”, “Desert Rose”, “King of Pain”, and the iconic “Every Breath You Take”—closing the main set before a triumphant encore comprised of a “Roxanne”/”Be Still My Beating Heart” medley and “Fragile” featuring Sting on acoustic guitar.
