On Saturday, April 20th, The String Cheese Incident offered up the second performance of their two-night weekend run at The Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis, MO.
Following an opening “Colorado Bluebird Sky”, the band worked through “Get Tight”, “(Nothing But) Flowers”, and Chuck Berry‘s “You Can Never Tell”. From there, SCI launched into a lengthy rendition of “Best Feeling”, off of their 1999 collaborative album with Keller Williams, Breathe. The set came to a close with extended jams on “The Big Reveal” and “Beautiful”.
Following setbreak, the band emerged to kick off the show’s second half with “Into The Blue”. The new tune out of the band’s SCI Sound Lab was debuted during String Cheese’s New Year’s Eve blowout at Broomfield, CO’s 1stBANK Center. Michael Kang penned the lyrics for “Into The Blue”, a song he wrote for his late mother. Prior to the band’s St. Louis run, a beloved and dedicated fan named Tara lost her battle with cancer, so The String Cheese Incident took the opportunity to dedicate “Into The Blue” to her. Kang opens up by saying, “We’re gonna send this one out to our friend Tara.”
Luckily for fans, SCI has shared pro-shot video of “Into The Blue” from St. Louis, which you can enjoy below:
