On Saturday night, The String Cheese Incident rounded out a two-night run at Oakland, CA’s The Fox Theater with help from a pair of surprise guests.

The guest appearances began on the final song of the first set when Nigerian percussionist Sikiru Adepoju joined in on talking drum to add some extra rhythmic texture.

When the band took the stage for set two, they were joined by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Harrison, the guitarist/keyboardist/producer best known for his work as a member of Talking Heads. He also notably produced The String Cheese Incident’s 2014 album, A Song In My Head.

In honor of the recent birthday of late Grateful Dead lyricist John Perry Barlow, the Harrison-augmented band took on a cover of one of the many classic songs for which he provided lyrics, “I Need A Miracle”.
