Multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker, known as Tame Impala, helped celebrate the late Beatles member John Lennon‘s 80th birthday this week, with a stripped-down, acoustic cover of “Jealous Guy”.

On Thursday, Lennon’s son Sean Ono Lennon appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he performed a rendition of his father’s 1970 track, “Isolation”. In a video posted to YouTube, Sean compelled viewers to upload their own covers in celebration of what would have been his father’s 80th birthday. Tame Impala answered the call, and did it in epic fashion.

Lounging barefoot on a bed with nothing but an acoustic guitar, Parker started into the nearly 50-year-old Imagine track with a softly-strummed chord progression. The three-minute video sees him nail Lennon’s vocals and the laid-back vibe of the original, while adding his own flavors throughout.

In the video’s description, Parker gave a birthday shoutout to the Beatles legend, tagged Sean, and hashtagged the post with “#gimmesometruth”.

Check out the acoustic cover below.
