Earlier this year, Tank And The Bangas teamed up with a mix of artists of all ages from the band’s home city of New Orleans to record a collaborative take on Hal David and Burt Bacharach‘s “What The World Needs Now Is Love”. The process was documented by a film crew, and the in-studio footage has now been shared to the band’s YouTube page.
The video showcases singer Tarriona “Tank” Ball sharing vocal duties with the various artists, poets, and fellow singers who took part in the unique collaboration which includes a spoken-word rap in the middle.

“In January, Yahoo gave us the opportunity to call some of our artist friends in New Orleans to help us record ‘What The World Needs now’ and it was one of the most powerful moments I’ve ever experienced in a room full of artists,” Ball mentioned in a statement shared with the video. “It was so New Orleans. The voices of the children, the poets, the different tones and textures of all the artist was truly transforming. I believe that everyone can testify how high the emotions ran this particular day. It’s my hope that people will become moved, active, and use love in their weaponry in fighting for what they believe Sn [sic] right.”
