Tedeschi Trucks Band wrapped up their three-night run at the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, IL last night, delivering yet-another stand-out show to a capacity crowd. The evening was billed as “An Evening With Tedeschi Trucks Band“, meaning they delivered two full sets of music without any opening support.

With two sets on the table, the group had the opportunity to dive deep into their catalog of originals and covers, while always keeping it close to home. The first set opened with “Don’t Let Me Slide” by the Derek Trucks Band, leading into “Anyday” by Derek and the Dominos, which included an anthemic “Blue Sky” tease by the Allman Brothers Band. The first set was further highlighted by a newly-introduced cover of Susan Tedeschi‘s 2008 “Butterfly”. The set closed with a raucous “Do I Look Worried” into “I Want More” into Santana‘s “Soul Sacrifice” jam to complete the first portion of the evening.

Set two opened with another new cover of “Love Having You Around” by Stevie Wonder, which the 12-piece debuted at their own Sunshine Music Festival in Boca Raton earlier this month. The second set was mostly made up of career-spanning originals, including their new song “Shame” which is expected to appear on their fifth studio effort. The second set closed with a huge “The Storm” jam that led into a barn-burning “Whipping Post” by the Allman Brothers Band.

For the encore, Tedeschi Trucks Band returned to the stage with “A Song For You” by Leon Russell and “Bound For Glory”.
