Willie Nelson has detailed plans for a new album, The Willie Nelson Family, set for release on November 19th via Sony Legacy Recordings. Along with Friday’s announcement, Nelson has shared a new recording of “Family Bible” from the 12-track release.
As the title may indicate, Nelson’s forthcoming album is a family affair. The personnel includes Nelson’s sons Lukas (acoustic guitar, electric guitar, lead vocals, background vocals) and Micah (drums, bass, background vocals), his sister Bobbie (piano), and his daughters Paula (background vocals) and Amy (background vocals).

Beyond the Nelson family, the new album hosts contributions from Willie’s longtime collaborators Mickey Raphael (harmonica), Billy English (drums), Kevin Smith (bass), and Paul English (percussion). These were the final recordings Nelson made with Paul English, who passed away in February 2020.
The album’s tracklist hosts a fair share of The Red Headed Stranger’s originals including “Heaven and Hell”, “Kneel at the Feet of Jesus”, “Laying My Burdens Down”, “In God’s Eyes”, “I Thought About You, Lord”, and “Too Sick To Pray”. The album also features covers of George Harrison (“All Things Must Pass”), The Carter Family (“Keep It On The Sunnyside”), Kris Kristofferson (“Why Me”), and more. The Willie Nelson Family marks the 88-year-old’s second album of the year, following his Frank Sinatra tribute, That’s Life.
