New Orleans’ iconic independent music venue Tipitina’s has announced a brand new streaming series dubbed Tipitina’s TV. Presented by Crystal Hot Sauce and powered by Nugs.netTipitina’s TV will stream performances from a new band/artist each week beginning on August 15th.

New Orleans funk mainstays Galactic, who purchased the venue in late 2018, will kick off season one next Saturday night (8/15). Rebirth Brass Band will follow them on the 22nd, before Anders Osborne makes his Tipitina’s TV debut on August 29th. Tank & The Bangas will then usher-in the September streams on the 5th before Samantha Fish (9/12) and The Radiators (9/19) close out Season One. Fans can purchase each show individually or all Season One streams as a package. Individual shows are available now, here, for $11.99 each, whereas the Season One package will be available soon.

Like virtually all other independent venues, the ongoing pandemic has threatened the future of Tipitina’s. With large gatherings all but outlawed across the country, venues are struggling to stay afloat. In addition to joining the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) in hopes of securing more financial aid from the federal government, Galactic drummer Stanton Moore explained that supporting Tipitina’s TV is one of the best ways to help the venue.

“A lot of folks have been asking me how they can help Tip’s… Supporting this live streaming series is a great way to support Tip’s and our local artists at this time,” Moore said in a Facebook post. He continued, “Thanks to everyone who have been helping us get through this extremely challenging time!”
