Railroad Earth frontman Todd Sheaffer gathered friends and fans for a night of music at Morristown’s The Homestead in his native New Jersey on Tuesday.

Joined by his former Railroad Earth bandmate Andrew Altman (bass), who left the group last year, as well as Yonder Mountain String Band multi-instrumentalist Nick Piccininni (mandolin, fiddle, banjo, vocals), David Butler (drums), and Damian Calcagne (keys, vocals), Sheaffer played songs from Railroad Earth and his previous band From Good Homes. Percussionist Stevo Nelson also joined in on a couple tunes including “Standing On The Corner” and the celebratory show-closer “Enjoy Yourself (It’s Later Than You Think)”.

Sheaffer also passed the microphone to his compatriots (so to speak), with Altman leading the charge on “12 Wolves”, a song he sang with Railroad Earth. Calcagne and Piccininni also sang lead on two songs each.

He will then reunite with his From Good Homes bandmates on December 15th for the first public screening of the documentary Charlie Loves Our Band, The Story of From Good Homes, followed by a band Q+A and live performance at The Williams Center in Rutherford, NJ. Railroad Earth also has upcoming tour dates including a West Coast run culminating in a two-night New Year’s Eve celebration in Bend, OR.
