Details of the film from the acclaimed animation film studio were shared at the D23 expo taking place in Anaheim, CA over the weekend. Soul is set to arrive by June 2020, and stars Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Daveed Diggs, Questlove, and Phylicia Rashad, with Foxx voicing a middle-school music teacher on earth who dreams of playing at iconic New York City jazz club, The Blue Note.
Recent film score projects and soundtrack contributions from Reznor and Ross include Netflix‘s hit 2018 thriller Birdbox, and Jonah Hill’s directorial debut about L.A. Skateboarders, Mid90s. The pair notably composed an Academy Award-winning score for 2014’s The Social Network and earned a Grammy for “Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media” for their work on The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo in 2011.
