Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have announced the release of their original score for HBO‘s Watchmen. The soundtrack will be released in three volumes on 180g vinyl. Volume 1 will be released on November 4th, Volume 2 on November 25th, and Volume 3 on December 16th. Digital releases are planned shortly after the release of each physical volume.

Created in partnership with the show’s writers, each of the three LPs features artwork and packaging exclusive to the preorder that delves into the culture of the Watchmen series and provides insights into the saga’s mythology and mystery.

Watchmen is a superhero drama television series, inspired by characters from the DC Comics limited series of the same name. The TV show has been adapted exclusively for HBO. The series takes place in an alternate reality in the U.S. in which superheroes and masked vigilantes have been outlawed, but some of them decide to begin a revolution while others attempt to stop it. The first episode of HBO’s Watchmen aired last night, October 20th. New episodes will air each Sunday at 9 p.m. EST.

The collaboration between Reznor and Ross for the Watchmen series is far from their first. The pair have collaborated on eight other film score projects ahead of Watchmen including, most recently, Bird Box in 2019 and the award-winning score for The Social Network in 2010.
