On Wednesday, the Grammy Museum hosted a special screening of Trey Anastasio‘s Between Me & My Mind documentary in Los Angeles, CA. Following the screening, Trey sat with moderator Scott Goldman to discuss the film and performed an intimate nine-song solo acoustic set.

Trey Anastasio opened up the musical portion of the evening with “Snowflakes in the Sand”, a tune Trey debuted in 1999 and recently revived at a solo acoustic performance at Boulder, CO’s Macky Auditorium in December 2018. Trey continued on with “Brian and Robert”, “Blaze On”, “Strange Design”, and Ghosts of the Forest‘s “Brief Time”. “Brief Time” segued into “Free”, which was followed up by “Limb By Limb” and the acoustic debut of “A Life Beyond The Dream”. Trey closed out the performance with “More”, reminding the Southern California crowd to continue vibrating with love and light.

In addition to the music, Trey treated attendees to a comical story about Phish‘s tune “Free” and answered fans’ questions including what the original intention was behind the band taking “Ruby Waves” past the 38-minute mark on night three at East Troy, WI’s Alpine Valley Music Theatre.
