Eclectic nine-piece powerhouse Turkuaz has shared a new music video for “Heat Drop”, the lead single off their recently released Kuadrochrome EP. The “Heat Drop” video was directed by the band’s creative director, Dani Brandwein.
“This video gives a glimpse into the meaning of the song,” explains frontman Dave Brandwein. “I seem to enjoy tackling some darker issues and themes in our lyrics to contrast the upbeat and fun vibe often found in the music. This song and video are no exception. The ‘Heat Drop’ refers to anger and rage getting the best of our protagonist (in this video, and often in life—the protagonist is me). These feelings slowly but surely emerge from within, to become a towering beast who won’t be happy until I’m dead! It’s fun for the whole family!”

2020 is set to be a big year for Turkuaz. This summer, they’ll link up with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew for a string of festival shows in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Talking Heads‘ acclaimed LP, Remain In Light.
Before the Remain In Light shows, Turkuaz will return to Brooklyn for a very special performance at Brooklyn Comes Alive on Saturday, March 21st at Avant Gardner. For their Brooklyn Comes Alive performance, Turkuaz will be joined by Brooklyn-native keyboard wizard Cory Henry as well as Ghost-Note percussionists/co-bandleaders Robert Sput Searight and Nate Werth. With so many talented artists and friends also on the bill that night, we wouldn’t be surprised if that roster balloons even bigger with surprise sit-ins. This is one Turkuaz show that fans can’t afford to miss. For more information on Brooklyn Comes Alive, or to grab your tickets today, head here.
