Vermont-native jam quartet Twiddle will go on indefinite hiatus beginning in 2024, the band revealed on Tuesday. The news of Twiddle’s impending hiatus was announced along with a new batch of 2023 concerts billed as the Distance Makes The Heart Tour.
The news was announced on Tuesday by way of a note from guitarist/vocalist Mihali Savoulidis. “I’ve now come to a crossroads in life where I feel I’m being pulled in many different directions,” he wrote. “I need to make the right choice for me and for my family. I feel that now is the time to make a much needed change to gain a different perspective on life and focus my creative energy elsewhere.”

The newly announced 2023 tour dates include Eggy as support for the majority of the run, in addition to a handful of shows with openers Kendall Street Company and Great Time. Adrian Tramontano will continue as the band’s drummer throughout its 2023 tour.
Twiddle’s initial batch of 2023 Distance Makes The Heart Tour dates will kick off on January 19th in Washington, D.C. and run through March 12th in Frisco, CO. The band also announced a performance at Northlands Music & Arts Festival in New Hampshire (June 16th and 17th). The note from Mihali indicated that additional 2023 dates will be announced in the coming months.
Pre-sale tickets will go on sale Wednesday, November 30th at 10 a.m. local venue time. Tickets for all dates will go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 2nd at 10 a.m. local venue time. For complete ticketing details, head here.

I come to you all with a heavy heart today to share a tough but important announcement. With the support of my bandmates, we are making the difficult decision to take an indefinite hiatus as a band starting in 2024 after 18 years of being on the road.
In times like these, I believe that change is necessary for creative growth and proper reflection.
Music has engulfed my life ever since I was 14 years old, and since then I’ve devoted every part of myself to it. Twiddle in particular has been my life’s focus since college, and the band & crew members have been like brothers to me.
I’ve now come to a crossroads in life where I feel I’m being pulled in many different directions. I need to make the right choice for me and for my family. I feel that now is the time to make a much needed change to gain a different perspective on life and focus my creative energy elsewhere.
We are so blessed to have been able to live out our dreams because of you and your support. Without all of you, none of this would have been possible. I wouldn’t trade a second of this experience for anything. So from the bottom of my heart and with all my love, thank you so much for everything. The Twiddle community really feels like a big family and the amount of kindness and love that you have shown us and each other over the years has been nothing but inspiring. I am so proud to have been a part of it.
With that being said, 2023 will be the band’s last year of touring for the foreseeable future. Please come celebrate the incredible community we have all built together during this next year and we hope to see all of you at least one more time. More shows for 2023 will be announced in the coming months, and we can’t wait to celebrate each and every night throughout this tour with you.
This isn’t the end, it’s just goodbye for now.
