The 2020 edition Ultra was canceled by the city of Miami just two weeks before it was set to take place, soon after which organizers informed ticketholders they would not receive refunds. Instead, they were instructed that they could choose to either roll their tickets over to 2021 or 2022. When it became clear the festival would not take place in 2021, 2022 became the next available option. The festival, which sold out in 2020, does not currently have any tickets on sale for the 2022 edition. Festival organizers were able to host a full-scale version of the event in November 2020 in Taiwan, where COVID-19 was quickly contained.
