For many years, Umphrey’s McGee in Chicago was a given for New Year’s Eve. However, never content to repeat themselves, Umphrey’s McGee ventured to spots like Atlanta and Colorado throughout the 2010’s, leaving fans in their hometown Windy City dismayed. Fortunately, the band told fans at North Coast Music Festival to expect a homecoming for the end of 2016, and the group has just confirmed the news.

The band will hit Chicago for three nights at the end of December, spending December 29th at The Riviera Theatre before heading to The Aragon Ballroom for two nights, on December 30th and 31st. The show on December 30th will also feature support from The Motet, and Umphrey’s will play three sets as they usher in the New Year.

The band has also rolled out a special umVIP package, which includes “a private step and repeat photo-op with the band on 12/30, alongside an open bar and joyous mariachi tunes in the Aragon lobby. Yes, you read that right. Enjoy a set-break pizza party on 12/31, three posters by Chicago artists Land Land, Justin Santora and Baker Prints, a custom umVIP speaker and so much more.”
