On Saturday night, Umphrey’s McGee rounded out the first half of their 4-night New Year’s run at The Fillmore in Denver, CO.

The band kicked off the performance with a special “Choose Your Own Adventure” set that saw the crowd vote on what song would be played next in real time. The audience helped craft a first set featuring performances of “Draconian”, “Professor Wormbog”, “Nemo”, “Crucial Taunt”, “Mantis”, “Uncle Wally”, and “Wizard Burial Ground”. You can scroll through the results of the text message votes below.

Choose Your Own Adventure… AKA “the blame yourself set.” Thanks to @polleverywhere for helping us out tonight.

Umphrey’s McGee retook the reins for set two, which kicked off with “In The Kitchen” before moving into “Looks”. A “Plunger” > “Speak Up” combo followed, the later containing a tease of Miles Davis‘s “It’s About That Time”. After working through “Higgins”, Umphrey’s dove into their first-ever rendition of LCD Soundsystem‘s “Tribulations”. The LCD cover segued smoothly into “Mulche’s Odyssey”. Going off the established two-song pairing, the band alternated back and forth between “Higgins” and “Mulche’s” for the remainder of the set. Finally, the band returned for their encore with “Wappy Sprayberry” before landing in a reprise of “Plunger” to end the show on a high note.
