The Other Brothers are a six-piece funk and soul band from the Hudson Valley composed of Brandon Bera (Drums), Chris Owens (Vocals), Gabe Marquez (Keys), John Morrison (Guitar), Jared Nelson (Percussion), and Jordan Mendelson (Bass). The New York-based band has been steadily gaining a name for themselves over the past few years, earning fans with their synthesis of the classic sounds of funk, blues, soul, R&B, and more during their upbeat performances. On April 19th, The Other Brothers warmed up the crowd packing Garcia’s in Port Chester, NY, before Vulfpeck’s Theo Katzman took the stage for his headlining performance. The sold-out performance was definitive success across the board, with both acts putting on stellar performances and with Katzman debuting a new song called “Lost And Found.”
However, one of the best highlights of that Wednesday night was collaborative, with Theo Katzman and Vulfpeck’s resident bass virtuoso Joe Dart joining The Other Brothers for an encore performance of Stevie Wonder’s classic hit, “Boogie On Reggae Woman.” The crowd lapped up the cover, and the musicians on stage seemed to be having a good ol’ time as well.
