Warren Haynes announced via social media that Gov’t Mule‘s spring tour, which was scheduled to commence on April 6th, has been postponed due to a shoulder injury he suffered while on vacation with his family in Costa Rica this past weekend. The lead guitarist and singer explained that he fractured his scapula after slipping on a wet surface and landing on his shoulder.
“I’m truly heartbroken and so very sorry that this happened,” Haynes wrote in the post. “I don’t think anyone was more excited to get back out on the road than I was. We’re working to reschedule these tour dates and will have updates as soon as possible. The doctors are confident that my shoulder will be healed in time for Mule to hit the road this summer, as planned.”

Among Gov’t Mule’s upcoming spring tour dates was a set at the SweetWater 420 Fest pre-party on April 28th in Atlanta, GA. The Southern rock outfit originally filled the slot that was first abdicated by moe. following Chuck Garvey‘s stroke in November 2021. A statement from SweetWater on Wednesday noted that “The festival will announce a replacement as soon as possible.”
As noted in the announcement, Warren Haynes is expected to recover in time for Gov’t Mule to hit the road this summer, as planned, according to doctors. View a list of the postponed spring tour dates below, and stay tuned for updates.
