Even before its inaugural festival takes place in Las Vegas in this month, When We Were Young festival has announced the lineup for its second annual event. Due to occur on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds, the second edition of When We Were Young will feature headlining performances by Green Day and Blink-182.
When We Were Young, an ode to early-2000s emo and alternative music in the form of a one-day festival, made big waves when it was introduced in January of 2022. The event quickly expanded from one day to three days due to overwhelming demand, indicating that the nostalgic sub-genres could still deliver big numbers at the box office even 20 years past their commercial heyday. The sold-out 2022 event is due to feature My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and more when it makes its debut in Las Vegas on October 22nd, 23rd, and 29th.
The 2023 edition of the Live Nation-produced event will lean further toward the pop-punk end of the stylistic spectrum with Green Day, one of the most notable names of that era, and the newly reunited Blink-182 lineup of Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Tom DeLonge. Other acts due to perform at When We Were Young 2023 include 30 Seconds to Mars, The Offspring, Good Charlotte, 5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low, New Found Glory, Pierce the Veil, Thrice, Rise Against, Something Corporate, Motion City Soundtrack, Gym Class Heroes, Yellowcard, Saves the Day, Michelle Branch, Bowling For Soup, Sum 41, Less Than Jake, Simple Plan, Plain White T’s, and more.
Fans can sign up now for a pre-sale window that begins Friday, October 14th at 10 a.m. PT via the festival website. Any remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, October 14th at 2 p.m. PT. Layaway payment plans start at $19.99 down.
