Widespread Panic continued its rollout of archival material on Friday with a video of “Chilly Water” from The Fox Theater in Oakland, CA on 10/15/10. The concert kicked off a three-night run at the California theater in the midst of the band’s 2010 fall tour.

This upload comes as the latest in a flurry of content from the Athens, GA bred blues-jam outfit. The past couple of weeks has seen the band present clips from its 2002 documentaryconcert filmsvintage TV appearances, interviews, and much more.

This rendition of one of the band’s all-time classics came as the closer of set two. With an entire show’s worth of momentum behind them, Widespread Panic attacks the Space Wrangler track with full force as bassist Dave Schools drives out the opening notes. The band roars ahead as guitarist Jimmy Herring leads the charge headfirst into improvisation before eventually passing the baton back to Schools for an impressive bass solo. Between the iconic crowd response of hydrating the entire room and John Bell‘s trademark howl, the energy in the room is palpable as Panic pounds out one last rocker before leaving the stage for an encore break.
