Just one day after surprising fans by releasing a free download of a brand new album, Star Wars, with no prior warning, Wilco delighted their hometown crowd at Pitchfork Festival by playing the new release in its entirety.
The band came on to the stage with the song “EKG” playing through the PA system, and proceeded to run through the whole album from cover to cover. As JamBase points out, guitarist Nels Cline was particularly on point, delivering some roaring solos in some songs and masterfully playing the pedal steel guitar in others.
