WinterWonderGrass has announced its late-night programming schedule for the upcoming festival at Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, CO February 21st–23rd, as well as a free show on February 20th. Before the festival even gets started on Friday, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades will kick things off 2 p.m. Thursday with a free set beside the gondola.

The first night of WinterWonderGrass will feature Pickin’ On The Dead with Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon and The Jon Stickley Trio at Thunderhead Lodge on top of Steamboat Mountain, accessible via the gondola. Meanwhile, Jeremy Garret’s Funk Band (the side-project of The Infamous Stringdusters‘ fiddle player) and Twisted Pine will occupy The Steamboat Grand Ballroom. At Schmiggitty’s Live Music & Dance Bar, Della Mae and Meadow Mountain will also play intimate sets at the downtown Steamboat location.
As Jeremy Garret says of his Funk Band ensemble in a press release, “I cannot wait to share this mostly funk but also grassidelic ensemble with the crowd at WinterWonderGrass. I know this crowd of all crowds will get it. With soul man Josh Shilling on some vocals and keys, Ryan Cavanaugh on electric banjo, the heavy beats of Neal Evans on drums, the low funky bass of Joel Searls along with the ripping guitar of Jeff Ervine, this will be one fun late night show.”
Saturday night’s Grass After Dark offerings will feature an evening with ALO and will take place at the Thunderhead Lounge in advance of their headlining performance Sunday on the main stage. WinterWonderGrass will once again occupy The Grand Ballroom on Saturday night, this time for a guest-filled WWG All-Stars set, hosted by Billy Strings band members Billy Failing, Royal Masat, and Jarrod Walker. Downtown, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades and special guests Bowregard will switch off back-to-back sets at Schmiggity’s.
The traditional guest-filled, festival-closing performance at The Grand Ballroom on Sunday night will be hosted by The Travelin’ McCourys with special opening act, Che Apalache.
