Details continue to emerge about a mysterious new project called Electric Beethoven, helmed by Tea Leaf Green/Billy & The Kids bassist Reed Mathis. After appearing on the Jam Cruise lineup, Mathis continues to drop hints about the band on a daily basis.

Described as “Classical Dance Music,” we continue to learn about new contributors to the project. Jay Lane, Todd Stoops, Cochrane McMillan, Clay Welch and Joe Russo have all been featured on the band’s Instagram page, but today’s hint has us particularly excited. It appears that Phish bassist Mike Gordon is involved as well.

You can listen to a clip from one of the band’s songs featuring Mike Gordon, below.

While it’s unclear whether Gordon will be involved with any live performances, his bass playing is certainly a warm welcome to any album. Considering that this release seems to be modernized versions of Beethoven classics, we’re beyond excited to learn more about this group.
