Denver-based livetronica trio Nobide has teamed up with Doom Flamingo for a remix of the latter’s 2018 original single, “Telepathy”.

Shared on Friday, the revamped take on the pre-existing song opens with the familiar warmth of the band’s synths before the pulsating sensation of Nobide’s beats take over where the electric guitar usually comes in. From there, the song retains its dark, edgy vibe as the lyrics from Doom singer Kanika Moore keep the listener somewhat grounded while the reworked tracks and added electronic parts attempt to launch the tune to stratospheric heights.

This isn’t the first time Nobide has teamed up with a band from the jam scene to produce a fresh take on a rock song. Last year the trio delivered a remix of SunSquabi’s “Chrysalis” from the Colorado band’s Instinct studio album.

Nobide sold out their first-ever Denver headlining show last year as well after having supported nationally touring local favorite acts like The Floozies and Michal Menert.

As for Doom Flamingo, the band blew the doors off Sony Hall last month following an Umphrey’s McGee show in New York City. The relatively new synthwave-rock outfit will welcome their hometown fans for a two-night run at the Charleston Pour House in Charleston, SC next month on March 27th-28th.
