Live Nation is back in action. The concert promotion giant has announced its first live events since halting all tours and festivals back in mid-March due to the arrival of COVID-19 with a series of upcoming drive-in concerts in Tennessee, Missouri, and Indiana.

According to reports, Live Nation’s “Live from the Drive-In” will feature nine total performance to take place over the weekend of July 10th-12th at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN; the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, MO; and the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN. Country singer/guitarist Brad Paisley will headline all three shows, while Darius Rucker and Jon Pardi will perform at the Nashville event, and hip-hop veteran Nelly will perform at the Maryland Heights (St. Louis area) concert. Pardi and rock band Yacht Rock Revue will perform at the Ruoff Music Center show.

Fans who purchase tickets will be able to watch the performances from the parking lots of the venue, with a maximum of four people per car. The parking layout will see two empty lot spaces between each vehicle, allowing fans to watch and party from each of their designated individual “tailgating zones.”Attendees are encouraged to bring their own food, drinks, and chairs to set up around their cars. All venue staff will be required to wear masks, and Live Nation is asking attendees wear masks upon arrival, but don’t have to wear them once inside the parking lots. A menu of hot food items and nonalcoholic beverages will also be made available for purchase.

“We’re really dialed in with partnerships with [the] local jurisdictions [and] we’ve been meeting with them for months, just talking about how we can provide a great, comfortable experience to fans with social distancing at the forefront in whatever phase they’re about to enter,” Live Nation’s Tom See said of the upcoming performances. “Because of those relationships and that communication going back and forth, we’ve been successful in getting that green light.”

The announcement on Monday comes as more bands and concert promoters are beginning to take advantage of the innovative drive-in concert format established by artists in Europe earlier this year. Bands within the jam scene including Spafford and Aqueous have already begun throwing their own drive-in concert events in their respective home markets. The Ghost of Paul Revere will also host their own run of drive-in performances next month as well.

The announcement also follows a slightly-damning report on Live Nation—which is no stranger to controversial business practices—shared earlier this month detailing reduced pay rates for artists as well as new guidelines for financial responsibility regarding canceled events.

Tickets for all three events will go on sale for the general public on Friday. Click here for more info.
