Daze Between New Orleans, a new music festival taking place in the Crescent City during the days between Jazz Fest weekends, has announced its inaugural artist lineup.

The two-day event, scheduled for Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th at New Orleans, LA’s Faubourg Brewery, will tap into the worlds of jazz, funk, jam, folk, and beyond to serve up a musical gumbo worthy of the Big Easy’s unique cultural character. In addition to music, fans will be able to enjoy all that Faubourg has to offer, from a top-notch beer selection to fantastic traditional Louisiana cuisine. A portion of all proceeds will go to New Orleans-based nonprofit organizations via Rex Foundation.

Named for the period between the two weekends of the long-running New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival when the Fair Grounds go quiet but the city stays alive with festive energy, Daze Between New Orleans will keep revelers dancing through the week. Both days of the event will feature headlining performances by Colorado jam-grass titans The String Cheese Incident in addition to a slew of nationally touring bands and eclectic local favorites, with music running roughly from 2:00 p.m. through 9:30 p.m. each day.

Tuesday, May 3rd will include sets by globally renowned jazz-funk collective Snarky Puppy along with Eric Krasno & Friends, Nicholas Payton, Erica Falls, and Benny & The Late Bloomers. The Wednesday, May 3rd lineup will be highlighted by far-reaching psych-funk outfit Lettuce, in addition to Rebirth Brass Band, The Iceman Special, Honey Island Swamp Band, and The Rumble featuring Chief Joseph Boudreaux Jr.

Daze Between New Orleans will take place at Faubourg Brewery’s recently renovated complex in New Orleans East. In addition to making use of the state-of-the-art brewery facility and taproom, the event—presented by Live For Live MusicPurple Hat Productions, GMP Live, and Rose Tours—will take over the brewery’s spacious back lawn for headlining performances and more. Founded as Dixie Brewing in 1907 and later rechristened “Faubourg,” a French word for “neighborhood,” Faubourg is the oldest operating brewery in New Orleans. While the original location was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans owners Tom and Gayle Benson purchased a majority stake and revived the brewery at its new home in 2019.

It wouldn’t be a true New Orleans party without great food, and on-site “strEATery” Fete Au Fete will make sure fans are well fed with traditional Louisiana cuisine to go along with their Faubourg beer and malted cocktails throughout the event. Additional local food vendors will be announced soon. The festival will also host an Artist Village featuring a variety of local artisans and vendors as well as live painting exhibitions and a career-spanning gallery by renowned local painter Frenchy, with a portion of proceeds benefitting Rex Foundation.

“We are so excited to bring this new event to life at the beautiful Faubourg Brewery,” says GMP Live founder Gideon Plotnicki. “New Orleans is such a special place, especially during this time of year, and we are proud to create something new and meaningful in a city that is so near and dear to our hearts.”

Adds Live For Live Music founder Kunj Shah, “To me, Jazz Fest has always been more than just a festival that takes place at the Fair Grounds on two separate weekends. It’s the food, it’s the culture, it’s the late-night shows. It’s a chance to recapture our love affair with New Orleans during the days between. With this new festival, we’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute something special to this city that has given us all so much music, culture, and inspiration.”
