Jam Cruise inspires the musicians on its stages just as much as it does the fans dancing in front of them. Art is about inspiration, and every creative person has been inspired by the art that has come before. Together at sea, it’s only natural that these musicians would want to get together and pay tribute to the artists who inspired them to perform in the first place.

With that in mind, our own videographer Rex Thomson wanted to share some of the best covers he captured on Jam Cruise. With entries from Nigel Hall, Joel Cummins, Keller Williams, Holly Bowling and more, there’s no shortage of great tunes below.

Nigel Hall performing Natalie Cole’s “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)”:

Keller Williams & More Than A Little playing Talking Heads’ “Once In A Lifetime”:

Brownout playing Black Sabbath’s “Sweet Leaf” for a Brown Sabbath tribute:

Joel Cummins playing Radiohead’s “Everything In It’s Right Place”:

The Infamous Stringdusters with Nicki Bluhm playing Buddy Holly’s “Not Fade Away”:

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead playing Grateful Dead’s “Help On The Way>Slipknot>The Wheel”:

If you enjoy this kind of stunning musicianship, don’t forget about the upcoming Fool’s Paradise, a two day music festival taking place the first weekend of April in St. Augustine, Florida. Funksters Lettuce will play both nights, joined by the Jam Cruise friendly bands GRiZ, Vulfpeck, The Nth Power and a superjam worthy of the Jam Room itself, led by Chris Robinson and featuring George Porter Jr. and Ivan Neville.

You can find out everything about Fools Paradise HERE!

And for fans of the funk, don’t miss the inaugural NOLA Crawfish Festival, taking place between the two weekends of Jam Cruise and featuring a slew of legendary New Orleans musicians, including George Porter Jr., Anders Osborne and more. You can get all the information here.
